How do I move my software to my new laptop? Last Updated: 03/15/2008
First you need to answer the following questions before you can determine a specific path to moving the software to the new laptop:
What version is currently running on the primary PC (Help/About on menu bar)?
What pose collections (content packs) are installed and what are their versions )Help/About on menu bar)?
Is the original installation file available (CD or download)?
Assuming you have the original installation file the following general transfer steps should apply. If you do not have your installation files, please send us an email at support@yoga-software.com with the answers to the above questions and we will assist you in completing your transfer.
General Transfer Steps
1. Install the software on the portable computer, taking the necessary steps to ensure it is the most current version. Updates are available at http://www.chakraproductions.com/updates
2. Locate the "\yGuide\DB" folder on the portable PC where the software is installed - by default that is "C:\Program Files\yGuide\DB".
3. Rename any files in the "DB" folder by inserting "Save" before the period, for example "yGuideSave.mdb" instead of "yGuide.mdb".
4. Copy the file "yGuide.mdb" from the installation folder on the old computer (again "C:\Program Files\yGuide\DB" by default) to the laptop, placing that file into the same folder in which the files were just renamed.
5. Start yGuide. It should not be necessary to re-enter the license key.
